In 2006, one of LimoLink’s Client Account Managers stopped into the Corporate Angel Network (CAN) office at the Westchester County airport. CAN, founded in 1981, arranges free transportation to treatment for cancer patients using seats donated on corporate aircraft. Our account manager imagined that this was a perfect opportunity for LimoLink and CAN to develop a relationship. Sharing our Midwestern roots and vision, he explained the idea that LimoLink could potentially donate and arrange for ground transportation between home, airport, and/or hospital.

The following year the conversation continued during the National Business Aviation Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, discussing how LimoLink could bring that valuable solution to cancer patients and their families. Our goal, like that of CAN, was to alleviate the stress, physical discomfort and financial burden these trips can bring. With more research and communication we also learned that many LimoLink corporate clients participate in the CAN program by donating seats on their aircraft to cancer patients. It only made sense for us to do our part and participate in such an impactful program.

In early April of 2008 the first trip occurred for a patient in Brooklyn, New York. LimoLink arranged a sedan transfer from the patient home to Jet Aviation at the Teterboro airport where the family would be flown on a private jet, courtesy of the CAN network, to needed cancer treatment. Since that first trip LimoLink has proudly donated transportation to over 668 cancer patients!

Gina Russo
Executive Director, Corporate Angel Network
“LimoLink’s long-term partnership is essential to completing Corporate Angel Network’s mission; access to ground transportation has a direct impact on being able to complete a patient flight. If a patient needs treatment in New York City, but the available flight is to Philadelphia, we can use LimoLink to transport them in a safe, reliable and comfortable way. Without this support, these trips would not be possible.”
